The events devoted to the 75-anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region

The first pioneer of the Jewish Autonomous Region, Boris Bruk was given posthumously the rank "The Honorable citizen of the Jewish Autonomous Region"

To the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region the inhabitants of the region, brought the big contribution to the development of the region, were handed the state and departmental awards, and honorary titles. Among awarded is Boris Bruk, the known scientist, the chief of the well-known expedition of 1927 directed to the Far East with the purpose of studying the region for an opportunity of settling the area with the Jewish settlers. At the solemn assembly devoted to the anniversary of the Region, Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region N.Volkov, handed Natalya Yakovleva, the grand daughter of the professor, the attributes of the honorable award: the identity document, the certificate and the breastplate.

Unfortunately, B.L.Bruk’s merits were not appreciated during his life. And only last years when the Birobidzhan local historians have addressed to unexplored earlier documents and the evidences telling about the history of the development of the Jewish Autonomous Region, the name of professor Bruk began to sound again. Moreover this was promoted by Birobidzhan local historian Iosiph Brener. In the book "Lehaim, Birobidzhan" the whole chapter under the title “Unknown professor Bruk” was devoted to the talented scientist. And it was completely justified; his merits are really huge. His expedition did enormous work on studying the Priamurye area. On the basis of Bruk’s report, in which it was specified, that the area was perspective for development of agriculture, and Tikhonkaya station had a principal value in this part of the Priamurskiy area, and in 1928 it was adopted the decision of Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR to allow the free lands for the settlements purposes to KOMZET.

In 1934 Boris Bruk started his big research work on a regional agricultural experimental station, and in the next year "Direction of agriculture of the Jewish Autonomous Region", the unique work was published . He worked in the scientific commission of Birobidzhan, taught mathematics at the first city school, as well as he was engaged in creation of a local lore museum in the regional centre, and he was the first director of this museum.

In 1943 Bruk moved to Khabarovsk, where he continued scientific activity in the regional scientific research institute of agriculture. In the age of 94 the professor died.

His general creative heritage makes over hundred books and articles. Among them are proceedings, reports, materials of study of local lore researches, and also translations from the Jewish, English, German languages, verses and stories.

In the Jewish Autonomous Region the construction of the Kimkano-Sutarskiy ore mining and processing enterprise and the railway bridge across the Amur River is conducted

These objects, in the opinion of governor of the region Nikolay Volkov, "will become the locomotive in development of economy of the region"

In days of celebrating of the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region in commemoration of the beginning of the construction of the Kimkano-Sutarskiy ore mining and processing plant and the beginning of realization of the intergovernmental agreement on construction of a boundary railway bridge transition between the Russian village of Nizhneleninskoe and the Chinese city of Tongjiang a memorable stone at the building of the Kimkano-Sutarskiy ore mining and processing plant in Birobidzhan was laid. Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region Nikolay Volkov and Governor of the Heilongjiang province Li Zhanshu representing the Chinese party in realization of the new investment project of the boundary bridge across the Amur River took part in the solemn event. Nikolay Volkov congratulated builders, having noted, that it was made a good start of realization of the new investment project which "would become the locomotive in development of economy of the Jewish Autonomous Region ".

During celebrations Archbishop of Birobidzhan and Kuldur Iosiph led a ceremony of consecration of the opening of a new building of representative office of the plant in Birobidzhan, as well as a laid solemn stone.

The heads of the Metallurgical Alliance: chairman of the Board of directors Pavel Maslovskiy, general director of "Petropavlovsk - Ferrous Metallurgy" Yury Makarov, general director of OOO "Rubicon" Sergey Lavrikov and general director of the Kimkano-Sutarskiy plant Victor Rybkin took part in the event.

Pavel Maslovskiy noted in his solemn speech, that production of a new-constructed Kimkano-Sutarskiy ore mining and processing plant would be delivered not only in the Russian regions, but also to China. "Realization of the agreement between the Governments of Russia and China concerning the construction and joint operation of the railway bridge in the area of Nizhneleninskoye and Tongjiang will improve the diversification of channels of delivery of production of the plant to the ultimate consumers” – Maslovskiy said.

By calculations of experts, after realization of the project of the construction of the Kimkano-Sutarskiy ore mining and processing plant and the bridge Nizhneleninskoye-Tongjiang, beginning from 2014, about 4-5 billion roubles of receipts will be brought annually in the budget of the Jewish Autonomous Region.

Construction of the Kimkano-Sutarskiy plant is conducted in the northwest part of the Jewish Autonomous Region in Izvestkoviy settlement on the base of Kimkanskoye and Sutarskoye iron-ore deposits. The plant will become a technologically innovational enterprise of ferrous metallurgy: besides 4,18 million tons of iron-ore concentrate, which is going to be produced per year, the plant will make 2,5 million tons of granulated iron of direct restoration as well. It is considered to be an innovational production on the basis of technology of metallization of the third generation. It will be the second similar plant in the world and the first one in Russia. 2186 persons will work at the plant.

The railway bridge across the Amur River became the first joint project of development of frontier territories of Russia and the People’s Republic of China. The Government of the Russian Federation has listed the event of construction of the railway bridge transition zcross the Amur River in the area of Nizhneleninsk-Tongjiang in the Federal target program "Economic and social development of the Far East and Transbaikalia for the period till 2013".

According to the agreement, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation coordinates the project from the Russian side and the Ministry of Railways of the People’s Republic of China coordinates it from the Chinese side.

The bridge between the Russian village of Nizhneleninskoye and city of Tongjiang in the People’s Republic of China will be the only bridge transboundary transition, which will be active all-the-year-round for 3000 kilometers of the Russian - Chinese boundary. Due to the new bridge the way of production delivery from enterprises of the Amur Region, the Jewish Autonomous Region, and the Khabarovsk Territory to consumers of China and South-East Asia will be reduced almost twice.

On September 1, 2009 within the framework of the celebratory events devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region, in the exhibition hall of the regional state budgetary establishment "State archive of the Jewish Autonomous Region" the opening and thematic excursion over a photo documentary exhibition "75 years of the Jewish Autonomous Region" was held.

Archival documents and original photos of the regional state budgetary establishment "State archive of the Jewish Autonomous Region” on exploring of the territory of the future region, concerning its formation and development, became the main concept of the exposition.

The attended people took a great interest in the archival documents, dated the second half of the 19th century, on resettlement and settling of the Jewish Autonomous Region, documents of the period of the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period of development of the Region.

In the centre of Birobidzhan the construction of the embankment of the Bira River is coming to an end

Within the next few days in the centre of Birobidzhan the construction of the embankment of the Bira River will be finally finished. As a correspondent of "Vostok-Media" informs, an installation of fountains, which will be in open water near to the bank, has been started. At present employees of the Clean city enterprise and the other contract organizations are finishing last painting and decorating works of the object. The granite embankment at night is illuminated. The benches and various sculptures are established there.

The construction is personally checked by governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region Nikolay Volkov. The new embankment will be a gift to the 75th anniversary of the region. The solemn opening of the embankment is going to be held in the evening, September 11.

The Birobidzhan International Festival "Electronic future - 2009! " has started during the days of celebrating of the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region

From September 9 till September 12, 2009 within the framework of celebrating of the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region the Birobidzhan International Festival "Electronic future - 2009! " has started. (http://www.mfeb.ru)

The founder and the organizer of the International festival "ELECTRONIC FUTURE - 2009! " is the Russian Agency for Development of Information Society (RADIS), patronage is carried out by the Public chamber of the Russian Federation, and support is rendered by the Federal Agency for Information Technologies. The organizer of the Birobidzhan International festival "ELECTRONIC FUTURE - 2009! " was the IT department of the Government of the Jewish Autonomous Region. The purposes of the festival:

• promotion to formation and development of the integrated information society in the Russian Federation;
• promotion to satisfaction of public needs for reception of real information on the questions of information and communication technologies (further – ICT), electronic services and information resources;
• promotion of liquidation of digital and information breaks, reduction of inequality of opportunities of acquiring of knowledge and skills in area of ICT competence, and as well as reception of its services;
• development promotion of civil initiatives in the environment of users of information services in the Russian Federation;
• consolidations and assistance to association of consumers of ICT services;
• introduction of new information technologies in various branches of the Russian economy.

A number of events with participation of general director of the Russian Agency for Development of Information Society, chairman of the organizing committee of the International Festival "Electronic Future-2009!” Aleksandr Aigistov were carried out in order to achieve the purposes of the International festival:

• regional conference "Welcome to the Electronic future!", it is going to be a solemn ceremony of rewarding of winners and participants of the competition "The Best Internet-Site of the Jewish Autonomous Region" devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region;
• round-table discussions: "Young volunteers of the information society", "National culture, spirituality and morals in the information society", "Site, as an effective tool of successful activity ";
• master-class "Make a site for an hour!";
• training seminar for persons with limited physical opportunities "Justice in the Internet";
• lesson for children of school age "Planet of Internet";
• press-conference and others.

The Birobidzhan stage of the International festival "ELECTRONIC FUTURE - 2009!" will be prolonged till December, 2009.

Festival of amateur creativity of preschool children "Rainbow of talents"

Within the framework of the events devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region, the festival of amateur creativity of preschool children "Rainbow of talents" was carried out by the committee of education of the Jewish Autonomous Region.

Participants of the first regional festival have shown various sides of creative talents, skill, enthusiasm, sincerity in performance of concert shows. Variety of dances, vocal singing, and art reading was a result of joint creative work of teachers of children's educational establishments of the region as well as parents of children.

Creative platforms of the first stage of the festival became kindergartens in all municipal districts of the region, stages of palaces of culture. About 700 children took part in the first round of the competition.

Concert program by 22 kindergartens and regional children's homes № 1 and № 5 was selected from 37 preschool establishments for the final round of the competition. On the day of the gala-concert June 1, 2009, the stage of the regional Philharmonic Hall could hardly accommodate the participants of the colorful show.

Spectator applause and warm atmosphere in the hall, huge number of people wishing to be present at the festival was the proof of success of our children and used educational technologies.

The festival promoted:

• development of creative individuality of children;
• teaching scenic culture;
• strengthening of creative connections between collectives, an exchange of creative experience;
• increase of mastery of preschool creative collectives;
• perfection of forms of work on aesthetic and moral education of preschool children.

Regional amateur arts festival of the students of the establishments of the primary occupational education

On June 6, 2009 a final concert of amateur performances of students of establishments of primary occupational education devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region was held in a city Palace of culture.

Before the concert in the hall of the Palace of culture the Young masters exhibition of products of arts and crafts creativity of students of the establishments of primary occupational education was organized. All professional schools of the region took part in it. Products of arts and crafts, paintings, model of clothes, tools, consumer goods, confectionery products made by students in industrial practice workshops of schools were presented at the exhibition.

The regional amateur arts festival of students of establishments of primary occupational education of the region has been held by the committee of education of the Jewish Autonomous Region since 1993 within the framework of realization of educational work.

The purpose of the review - competition is development of creative abilities and formation of moral and aesthetic qualities of trainees, organization of interesting leisure of pupils, maintaining and perfection of traditions of carrying out of creative competitions and shows in system of primary occupational education.

Creative collectives of all establishments of primary occupational education of the region took part in the gala performance. The total number of participants of the final was about 100 people.

By results of the review-competition, creative collectives of establishments of primary occupational education were awarded with diplomas and certificates on a valuable present in the following nominations:

• Diploma in the nomination "For originality and variety of genres" of the amateur arts festival of establishments of primary occupational education of the region and the certificate of a valuable present has been awarded to the creative collective of the professional school №1, Birobidzhan;



• Diploma in the nomination "For active participation" of the amateur arts festival of establishments of primary occupational education of the region and the certificate of a valuable present was given to the creative collective of the professional school № 2, Leninskoe settlement;



• Diploma in the nomination "For fidelity to traditions of choral singing and instrumental creativity" of the amateur arts festival of establishments of primary occupational education of the region and the certificate of a valuable present was given to the creative collective of the professional school № 3, Birobidzhan;



• Diploma in the nomination "For creative initiative and artistic skill" of the amateur arts festival of establishments of primary occupational education of the region and the certificate of a valuable present was given to the creative collective of the professional school № 6, Obluchye;



• Diploma in the nomination "For variety and creative search" of the amateur arts festival of establishments of primary occupational education of the region and the certificate of a valuable present was given to the creative collective of the professional school № 7, Amurzet settlement;



• Diploma of the owner of Grand Prize of the amateur arts festival of students of establishments of primary occupational education of the region and the certificate of a valuable present was granted to the creative collective of the professional school № 1, Birobidzhan.

On May, 15 in the regional centre solemn event "Celebration of the best families of the region", devoted to the International Day of Family and celebrating of the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region was held.

Vice-chairman of the Government of the region M.M. Zhirdetskaya, creative collectives of the city, and also pupils of children's homes № 1 and № 2 congratulated the participants of the event on the International Day of Family. Every participated family was presented flowers and valuable presents.

At the end of the event excursion around the children's home № 2, where families had an opportunity to get acquainted with children and their conditions of residing in the establishment, was conducted. The organizers of the event were the committee of social protection of population of the Government of the region, the department on questions of demography and youth policy of the Government of the region and the department of culture of the Government of the region.

On April, 16-17, 2009 in the Regional institute of teachers’ advanced training the Regional scientific and practical conference "National and regional component of school liberal education of the Jewish Autonomous Region: experience and prospects", devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region was held. 200 teachers of the region, 69 participated people took part at the conference. The basic directions and questions of the conference were:

• National and regional component in curricula of school education: place and content.
• Regional concept of school curricula and programs.
• Ways of realization of the national and regional component in school education.
• Experience of introduction of innovational technologies by studying disciplines of the national and regional component.
• Regional school-methodical materials: programs, school-methodical manuals, textbooks, and working writing-books.

A work of 5 problem workshops was organized within the framework of the conference.

• Succession of pre-school and primary education in realization of the national and regional component
• Experience, problems, prospects of the national and regional component in school philological education of the Jewish Autonomous Region
• Experience and problems in teaching "History of the Jewish Autonomous Region’
• Technologies of realization of the subject "Geography of the Jewish Autonomous Region"
• Educational opportunities of the national and regional component

At the conference teachers of the region presented their experience on the national and regional component, carried out masterclasses, creative laboratories on the organization of activity of pupils on study of local lore.

Materials of the conference will be published in the thematic collection.

The participants marked the conference’s actuality, as well as the practical and theoretical importance.

On April, 1, 2009 in the Museum of modern art of the Jewish Autonomous Region the His majesty the moment personal photo-exhibition by Efim Veprinskiy, devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region and the 55th anniversary of the author, was opened. The best works of the photo artist were presented to the attention of spectators.

On February, 26, 2009 on the eve of celebrating 75-year anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region in a City Palace of culture the Land where I am Happy Regional festival of singers, poets and musicians of the region was held. 20 authors took part at the festival. They presented their verses, author's songs, comic sketches, compositions and essays. Names and creativity of many of them are familiar to a Birobidzhan spectator. They are Honoured actress of Russia L.Kvasova, N.Livant, R.Vasilyev, L.Smirnova, A.Akimenko. They not only presented their works, but also invited amateur collectives with which they cooperate (ensembles Wind Rose, The Seventh Ocean, Ale Neiman etc.)
