Tourism Activity
Tourism in the Jewish Autonomous Region is constantly developed and improved. The number of tourists visiting our region and leaving the region for the various countries and regions of the country annually grows.
Tourist connections with the People’s Republic of China are most advanced. In 2008 more than 1900 foreign citizens from the People's Republic of China have visited the region with the tourist purposes.
The number of the Russian citizens traveling abroad has increased and has made 36431 persons. 35998 citizens have traveled the People's Republic of China. In comparison with 2007 the number of tourists has increased by 10024 persons. Last year the tourist services for the sum more than 36,6 million roubles, that is 0,7 times more than the previous year were rendered by tourist companies. The tours to Tunjiang, Jiamusi, and Harbin, are still getting popular with tourists. It is connected with the low price of a tour, close distance to the cities of the People’s Republic of China and as well as a good rest and shopping. There is a popular rest in the cities of Dalyan and Baidaikhe in summer time. Also more and more tourists prefer to have a vacation in the south of China and such a resort city as Sanya on the island of Hainan.
Nowadays 27 tourist organizations work in the region. 6 of them are representatives of the tourist organizations of the Khabarovsk Territory.
Today 7 companies in the region have submitted the documents within the framework of the Intergovernmental Agreement for the new period. Within the framework of work of the Coordination Council on the foreign trade activities and the boundary policy the given companies were considered by the members of the Council and recommended to be included in to the list. At session of the Interdepartmental commission which was held on 25.02.2009, the following tourist companies, such as OOO “Amsungtrans”, OOO “Amsungtur”, OOO “TurServis”, OOO “Limonnoe derevo”, OOO “Sofia Tur”, OOO “Vokrug Sveta” were approved for inclusion in the list of the tourist organizations having the right to carry out activity. The Annual international tourist exhibition “Inturmarket-2008” was held on the 18-21 of March in Moscow. Our region has taken part in the given action and has presented the exposition of tourist opportunities of the Jewish Autonomous Region. Also within the framework of the exhibition the prospects of development of resort and tourist complex in the subjects of the Russian Federation were discussed, as well as an attraction of investments in development of resort sphere and tourism, interaction of authority and business.
